April 4, 2009 FOR TODAY ... Outside my window...the sun is setting in a beautiful display of colors. I am thinking...of how precious my time with Darlene and Philip was. They add so much to my life. I am thankful for...friends that God sends to help when we are stranded. From the kitchen...all is quiet. I need to start dinner, but motivation is lacking. I am wearing...a navy skirt and red sweater set. I am creating...plans for a tea house ministry. I am going...to church in the morning, if my car will start. I am hoping...that I can get my fuel pump replaced soon and that it won't cost too much! I am hearing...girls stirring in the kitchen- I think they're getting hungry. Around the house...it is clean, the tearoom is set up, and I wish it could stay this way! One of my favorite things...my sweet grandchildren, Karabeth and Bryce Eric!! I miss them so much, it hurts sometimes. A few plans for the rest of the weekend...rest and hear God's voice. Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

For Today... December 23, 2008
Outside my Window... it is overcast, icy and cold.
I am remembering... simpler days when my children were all playing at my feet happily.
I am thinking... today is my Mother's birthday and I wish we were together. She is in St. Louis and I can't go to see her because of the icy roads.
I am wearing... jean skirt (what else?) and my red snowman shirt.
I am reading...Unafraid by Francine Rivers.
From the kitchen... the dishwasher is almost finished. I need to start something warm and yummy for lunch.
I am creating... a Christmas atmosphere with the last few decorations so I can get the boxes put away before Heather and Bryce get here this evening.
I am hearing... the washer, the dishwasher- sounds of preparations for the day ahead and Ashlee playing the piano.
One of my favorite things... days where worries are few and consciences are clear and love is felt.
Around the house... I need to get moving, but it's cold!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week.... I wish I knew... Christmas eve we are going to the Reckner's house. Christmas will happen with or without plans.
Verse... From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

God is in control! I love my family!

| I'm having a wonderful time here in Florida. It has been very busy as usual, but this morning is a relaxed one. The girls went out to breakfast with their Dad and Kara and I stayed here and played. I love spending time with her. We practiced squeezing a clothespin. Strange, you might say, but amazing when it's your granddaughter concentrating so hard to accomplish something new. She sings me Marmee songs and melts my heart. It is absolutely beautiful outside- 74 degrees and sunny. I am not looking forward to the cold. I just hope it snows so it will be pretty. We are going to meet Miss Tammy and her children for lunch today at the park. Then this evening I am going to my FAVORITE Mexican restaurant, ElAdobe, to celebrate my birthday with some of my best friends. We do it every year. This year we are going a day early as we have church Wednesday night. I hope we can get to the beach again this week and soak up a little more sun before we go back next Monday. This time has flown by, but it has been a joy! Tiffany finished our Christmas cards yesterday and we had them printed. I LOVE them! She's working on Bryce and Heather's anniversary/Christmas pictures. Looking at Christmas lights is also on the to-do list along with seeing a few more friends that have been as busy as we have. We will be attending the Ditchfield Family Christmas Concert Friday night. It is such a privilege to be invited each year. Christina and Ashlee has been working overtime babysitting for the Ditchfield's little boys as they have performed all over the area the past few weeks. I have been blessed with many cleaning jobs during our stay. I just love cleaning for people and making their lives easier and their homes more beautiful. I am going to try to blog more as I love the written testimony of what God is doing in my life. With His constant love, blessings, and provision I am living happily ever after!!

December 6, 2008 (12:08 am) FOR TODAY ... Outside my window...the Christmas lights are twinkling. I am thinking...how blessed I am to have lifelong loving friends. I am thankful for...being together with family. From the kitchen...all is quiet- we all ate out tonight. I am wearing...yellow polo shirt and jean skirt. I am creating...my first "Simple Woman's Daybook" entry. I am going...to bed soon. I am hoping...the next week passes slowly. I am hearing...the click of computer keys and the sweet voice of my firstborn daughter Tiffany. Around the house...we are winding down together after a busy day apart. One of my favorite things...being with people I love and don't see often enough. A few plans for the rest of the weekend:babysitting at our old church Saturday and seeing many old friends, going out to lunch with another special friend, watching the downtown Christmas parade Saturday night and spending Sunday at church with my Florida church family. Here is a picture thought I am sharing...sweetness

| In August we went to Florida for Karabeth's first birthday. I had a blast staying up all night decorating her birthday cake. In the morning the sky was rainy and dreary. I prayed and asked God to please clear it up in time for her party at noon. It was an outdoor party and we had no "plan B". As people called, we told them it was still on, rain or shine! I knew God would take care of everything. We got to the fountains and it was still raining. Billy was getting nervous but I told him I had prayed for it to clear up at noon and it was only 11:45. Sure enough... the rain slowed down and a small patch of blue sky appeared right in front of us! Coincidence? I think not!! The day became more beautiful by the minute. People slowly showed up and the party was a huge success! Benefits of the rain include: Cool temperatures, clean picnic tables, no parking problems, no crowds, and an awesome story of God's great provision. I talked to the young man that was working there throughout the day and shared how we were praising God for the weather clearing. He kept coming back and saying he couldn't believe how it cleared up and how beautiful it was. She had a blast in the fountains! She loved her cake- a healthy carrot cake with no sugar (except all the pretty icing- I am still a grandma after all!) The rest of our visit went well and we started our school year the Monday after we got home. It is going very well. Ashlee is in 11th grade and Becca is in 5th grade. We went to St. Louis last weekend to visit Grandma and other family. It was good to see her but she is showing her age more each day. It's more obvious since I'm not with her every day anymore. But she seems to be very comfortable there. Then our homeschool co-op started on Tuesday. We have a full schedule of classes and I'm so pleased with what the girls are participating in. Ashlee is taking Government/Elections, Biology, Bible Study and Logic. Rebecca has Art Appreciation, Elections, P.E., and American Girls club. I am teaching two classes and helping in two others. It is a fun and productive day. Wednesday was Becca's 11th birthday. I let her open presents throughout the day in between school work. The first one she opened was her American Girl Julie doll. She loves it. Then she got the seven books that go with the doll. Ashlee and I stayed up late the night before sewing sheets and bedspreads for a doll's bunk bed I got at a garage sale in PA when I was helping Heather and Bryce move. It was very similar to the one in the catalog, but much cheaper! She was thrilled! She also got a fuzzy pink rug and fuzzy pink slippers. Heather and Bryce sent her some cute note cards in a decorative box. She has already written thank you notes, including one to me! How sweet! NOW.... For the next happy thing!!! I'M GOING TO BE A GRANDMA AGAIN!!!! Heather and Bryce are expecting our family's newest "blessing" in April! I am so excited! Heather is feeling well and they are thrilled. Can you believe I kept that in until the end of my post? I wanted to put pictures on here but the computer is not cooperating. Maybe I can edit later. Until next time, May the Lord reveal His love to you in a special way!
